Post Procedure Diary – Day 6

Final Inches Patient Katie K. talks about Day 6 After Procedure

Day six and I am feeling really good, except for this twisted garment. I decide to go crazy and invite four other Mommies over and have a kids play date at my house. 12 kids in total. Yes I know. What was I thinking? I wouldn’t even normally do this much less six days after a procedure. All of the Mommies quickly accept almost as soon as I push send on my text. I know they all want to come over and see what is really going on. Plus a chance to have their kids play and mess up someone else house. What Mommy would say no to that!

Almost immediately they all want me to strip down and show them how it is all looking. I tell them that I am doing great, no more pain medication needed and it has actually been really not much hassle at all. I pull down my garment and show them that my stitches are almost already all healed, my minor bruising already almost all gone and my tummy as flat as a pancake. ;) They can’t believe it! They grill me again about the costs and about the procedure really being minimally painful. I say yes, yes, yes. I still don’t think they really believe me. But, the proof is right in front of them. My rocking, flat sexy tummy!

The kids ransack the house and have a blast, so every one decides to stay for lunch. Guess that means me making 12 lunches. Thank God for PB and J. Finally, everyone leaves and I clean up the lunch and toy disaster and thank goodness realize it is already nap time. I did it, and I am actually feeling really strong. Mentally and physical I feel like I can run a marathon. OK maybe a half marathon. OK maybe 4 miles.

I can’t wait for my post op appointment. Seems kind of sick but I am really anxious to run. I wonder if the belly roll being gone will make me a better runner? More about my post op appointment and starting back to running in my next post.
